"Investments that grow before your eyes"
Colonial
Hill Alpaca Farm offers an excellent line of Huacaya
Alpacas, bred from outstanding Peruvian blood lines. We
take pride in offering Alpacas as well as mentoring
people as they begin their new lifestyle in raising
Alpacas. We invested in Alpacas for many different
reasons: life style, love of Alpacas, financial
benefits, and being with people who are our Alpaca
friends and family. We started our farm and gift shop in
2003.
Breeding
Champion Alpacas is our life's ambition.
|
Alpacas are raised for their fleece,
which is softer than cashmere and warmer
than wool. The fleece
produces garments that
do not itch because the fiber has no lanolin.
|
 |
Alpacas come from South America, in the
countries of Peru, Chile, and Bolivia. They
have been known to exist for over 5,000
years. They
were imported into the U.S. from 1984 to
1998. There are 150,000 Alpacas in the
U.S. today (6-2009). Importing of Alpaca's
stopped in 1998 and are now restricted to
purchase only within the US or Canada. |
